Sustainable Development Goals until 2030 discussed with oil and gas industry workers

On July 1, an event was held on the theme of “Report for the period of review and evaluation of the measures taken in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals until 2030”with the participation of TUC chairmen and accountants of enterprises the structural service of Baku City and  Azerbaijan oil and Gas Industry Workers Trade Union Republican Committee.

Conveying the greetings of the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) Sattar Mohbaliyev to the participants of the event, the deputy chairman of the Republican Committee Fatulla Mustafayev spoke about the role of the trade unions of Azerbaijan in the life of the country, the work done, and the implemented projects. He noted that the report was prepared by AHIK and reflects the measures chosen by the country for 17 SDGs.

The employee of the International Relations Department of ATUC Roya Garayeva spoke about the goals mentioned in the report, national events in their implementation and the progress achieved. She said that in recent years, Azerbaijan has organized a number of high-level events in close cooperation with the UN in order to demonstrate its commitment to the promotion of intercultural dialogue and religious tolerance among peoples and the rise of the country’s reputation. She also informed the listeners about Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the International Labor Organization and other major organizations of the world.

According to him, AHIK is an active participant in many state programs related to the SDG and directed to it, and the progress and implementation of these programs are regularly reviewed at the meetings of the Tripartite Commission on social and economic issues.

At the end, the questions of the participants were answered and a broad exchange of ideas was held.
