On March 15, on the occasion of the upcoming Nowruz holiday, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan (ATUC) set off a caravan full of food for 4,650 low-income families living in the regions of the Republic, including the families of martyrs and veterans.
In addition, holiday gifts were given to 1,250 families of the same category living in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. With this, the total number of families sent gifts by ATUC reached 36 thousand.
In addition to ATUC, field trade unions also provide food assistance to families of the mentioned categories in all regions on this eve.
For your information, based on the decisions of the Executive Committee of ATUC, 3,900 martyr families and veterans were killed in April 2020, 3,900 in March 2021, 4,000 in May, 4,065 in March 2022, 4,500 in November, and 4,500 in December. food was also sent to low-income families.
Also, the Council of Trade Unions of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been allocated financial resources for sending gifts to the families of that category living there.
In an interview with journalists, ATUC Chairman, Member of the Milli Majlis, Sattar Mohbaliyev, said that taking care of citizens, eliminating the difficulties they face, treating the families of martyrs and veterans, war participants, low-income families with care, providing the necessary financial and moral support is an important part of the social policy of our state. : “For this purpose, various projects are being implemented in our country, important works are being done in the direction of ensuring the welfare of citizens and strengthening the social protection of vulnerable population groups. Along with our state, the leading public organizations of our country also support such humanitarian projects and take care of people belonging to the mentioned category. As in every field, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is distinguished by its exemplary activity in this direction as well. Thus, on the initiative of the president of the Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, gifts and presents are sent to families of martyrs, veterans, and low-income families on holidays and significant days for our state, and holiday meals are organized for them. Azerbaijani trade unions are also among the main participants of the mentioned social projects. In this direction, they adequately respond to all the calls of our state, and also take good steps with their own initiative.
