Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Sahib Mammadov met with President of the Somali Congress of Trade Unions Mohamed Osman Haji Ali.
The chairman of the Confederation spoke about the importance of establishing and developing relations between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Somalia. It was noted that cooperation and solidarity between trade unions are important conditions for the protection of workers ' welfare and rights, improvement of working conditions and provision of social justice, and achieving effective results in this direction. From this point of view, the meeting will contribute to the establishment of relations between the trade unions of Azerbaijan and Somalia, along with the importance of exchanging experiences and opinions.
Sahib Mammadov noted that the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and its member organizations have reorganized their work at the level of modern requirements, emphasized that protecting the rights of employees and ensuring a safe working environment for all is always in the spotlight.
Expressing his satisfaction with being in Azerbaijan, President of the Somali Trade Unions Congress Mohamed Osman Haji Ali thanked for the hospitality and noted their interest in establishing cooperation between Somali and Azerbaijani trade unions. Mohamed Osman Haji Ali also spoke about the activities of the Somali Congress of Trade Unions headed by him and brought to the attention that the exchange of experience with Azerbaijani colleagues would be useful for their future activities.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
