A meeting was held with representatives of the Organization of War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans at the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation.
Confederation Chairman Sahib Mammadov spoke about the work done to protect the labor, social, and economic rights and legitimate interests of union members, protect their health, and organize their treatment and recreation, and highlighted recent innovations in the trade union system. It was noted that, taking into account the realities of modern development and today’s challenges, as well as the application of progressive practices, the activities of the institution are being improved, and the procedure for issuing referrals is being simplified through digitalization. Sanatoriums and resort facilities are now operating efficiently even in the winter season, and travel to union members is provided on preferential terms during the season. Speaking about the favorable conditions created for the activities of trade unions in our country, Sahib Mammadov emphasized the state support provided to the organization by President Ilham Aliyev.
It was noted that trade unions are taking concrete steps for the social protection of veterans working in enterprises and organizations, and providing them with preferential travel for rest and treatment. Such measures will be continued in the future. Speaking about the high attitude towards veterans, the Chairman of the Confederation noted that the one-time financial assistance allocated to them, the year-on-year increase in pensions, the provision of housing and a personal car, and free medical treatment are indicators of the special care of the Head of State, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and First Vice-President, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, for veterans. At the meeting, Jalil Khalilov, Chairman of the Organization of War, Labor and Armed Forces Veterans, provided information about the activities of the organization he leads and voiced his proposals for expanding cooperation. The meeting also exchanged views on directions for expanding partnership, and the importance of developing relations was emphasized.
