The Memorandum of Understanding between trade unions of Azerbaijan and Somalia signed

The Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov met with President of the Somali Congress of Trade Unions Mohamed Osman Haji Ali, who is on a visit to our country.

The Chairman of the Confederation stressed the importance of the visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud to Azerbaijan for the development of cooperation between our countries, referring that the signed documents will have a positive effect, including on trade union relations.

At the meeting, detailed information was presented on the ongoing reforms within a system of  the Azerbaijan trade unions, applied innovations, projects implemented and planned by the Confederation.

The President of the Somali Congress of Trade Unions Mohamed Osman Haji Ali spoke about the activities of the institution he heads and expressed satisfaction with the establishment of relations between the trade unions of our countries. The Somali guest noted that the meetings and exchange of experience would be useful for further activities.

During the meeting, areas of cooperation were discussed, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation  and the Somali Congress of Trade Unions. The document highlights the development of relations in the direction of ensuring the well-being of workers, protecting labor rights and social justice, the exchange of experience, the implementation of joint initiatives in the labor and social aspects.

Then the President of the Somali Trade Union Congress Mohamed Osman Haji Ali got acquainted with the activities of the “Kurort” Tourist Information Center. It was reported that the union members receive a referral at the “Kurort” Tourist Information Center using simple procedures and in a centralized manner. This is done on the basis of the principle of accessibility, transparency and priority.
