The “Run to Health!” Project has been launched in Hajigabul district, initiated and organized by the Republican Committee of the Healthcare Workers’ Trade Union (ASİHIRK), a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK).
The healthcare workers, who were the organizers and participants of the project, first visited the monument to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Hajigabul district and laid flowers in front of it, paying tribute to his memory. The National Anthem was also played at the event, and the memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. The Head of the Hajigabul District Executive Power, Sevindik Hatamov, and the Chairwoman of ASİHIRK, Elnara Muradova, spoke about the work done in our country to protect the health of our citizens, the laws adopted, and state programs, and wished the participants success.
Then the race started, and a total of about 230 doctors, physians, nurses and other medical professionals from Hajigabul, Salyan, Shirvan, Neftchala, Saatli, Sabirabad and Kurdamir districts joined to the marathon.
At the end of the five thousand meter marathon, the first three people to cross the finish line were declared winners and awarded. The winners also earned the right to participate in the final race to be held in the city of Khankendi.
It should be noted that this sports event, dedicated to June 17 - Medical Workers' Professional Day, aims to effectively organize the leisure time of medical workers, promote physical health and strengthen solidarity among trade union members.
