A meeting was held with members of the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis at the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (AHIK).
The Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, spoke about the wide opportunities that the democratic environment in our country opens up for the effective activity of trade unions and the effective protection of labor rights, and emphasized the attention and care of our state to this area.
It was noted that complex steps are being taken to protect the labor, social and economic rights of union members, create healthy and safe working conditions in accordance with advanced international standards, and the activities of sanatorium-resort institutions are being continuously improved for the purpose of effective organization of treatment and recreation.
Speaking about the structural and personnel reforms carried out in the AHIK, the work done to increase the role of women and youth in the trade union system, the Chairman of the Confederation informed the Members of Parliament about new projects, including the projects "AHIK volunteers", "Decent Work Ambassadors", "AHIK Plus", "With care from colleague to colleague", "Run towards health". It was emphasized that the "Resort" Tourism Information Center has been established to provide directions from a single center, and work is currently underway to fully digitize the process.
The meeting also discussed the importance of expanding cooperation with the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis and the contributions it will make to the development of the trade union system.
Then, video materials were shown about the activities of the AHIK, as well as the projects "Decent Work Ambassadors", "With care from colleague to colleague", "AHIK Plus".
Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis, highly appreciated the reforms and innovations implemented by the Confederation, noted the special role of trade unions in regulating labor relations and developing civil society in our country. Musa Guliyev drew attention to the work done to improve the legislative framework in the social sphere, and also emphasized the importance of developing relations with the AHIK in protecting labor rights.
After the meeting, the Members of the Milli Majlis got acquainted with the conditions created for the reception of citizens at the AHIK, as well as the Call Center.
Then, with the participation of representatives of state agencies and MPs, the opening of the Labor Protection and Legal Assistance Center newly established by the AHIK took place.
At the event held in this regard, the Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, provided detailed information on the tasks and areas of activity of the Labor Protection and Legal Assistance Center. It was noted that labor inspectors will respond to union members' applications at the Center, assist them with legal issues they encounter in labor relations, and conduct educational activities.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis Musa Guliyev, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alakbarov, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Vusal Nasirli and MP Ziyad Samadzadeh emphasized the importance of the projects implemented by the Confederation and the innovations applied, noted that the work done is a significant contribution to the social policy of our state, and wished success to the activities of the Center.
Then, the Labor Protection and Legal Assistance Center was opened and the Center was inspected. The participants also got acquainted with the activities of the "Resort" Tourism Information Center located in the same place.
