Recreation centers and sanatorium-resort enterprises of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation operate in the picturesque corners of our country. One of such institutions is the sanatorium "Shikh”.
Treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system is carried out by professional medical personnel in the sanatorium, which is notable for its beautiful sea view, clean air, and modern-style architecture. There is a 175-bed 2-bed building with spacious, bright and comfortable conditions, a medical building, a canteen and other buildings.
The treatment base consists of Clinical-Diagnostic Laboratory, functional diagnostics, therapeutic sports, massage and medical offices of various profiles. Here, medical history, activity of treatment offices, accounting and canteen are connected to the centralized smart system, which is a pilot project.
The sanatorium mainly treats arthritis, polyarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, osteochondrosis, disseminated osteochondrosis, lumbar-oma radiculitis, spondyloarthritis, chronic myalgia, contracture of the joints, as well as gout arthritis.
The main means of treatment of "Shikh” sanatorium is hydrogen-sulphide water extracted directly from source in Bibiheybat and distinguished by high minerality. This healing water is used in treatment procedures such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, valneterapy.
Hydrotherapy the treatment procedure includes an underwater shower-massage, stretching in the pool-hydrotraction, whirlpool baths. In physiotherapy, electrotherapy, magnetotherapy, ultrasound therapy, darsonvalization, laser therapy is prescribed. Natural mineral water baths and mud therapy balneotherapy, as well as sulfur water baths, naphthalene and paraffin therapy are also included in the treatment procedure.
In the sanatorium, patients can also benefit from additional services such as ozonotherapy, injections, lymphodrenage, intra-articular therapy.
