As part of the “Run Towards Health!” project, initiated and organized by the Republican Committee of the Healthcare Workers’ Trade Union, a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, a running competition was held in the city of Mingachevir.
The event began with the organizers and participants visiting the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Mingachevir. They laid flowers at the monument and expressed their respects to his memory. The State Anthem was also played, and the memory of our martyrs was honored with a one-minute moment of silence.
The 5,000-meter run brought together doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals from Mingachevir, as well as from the districts of Aghdash, Ujar, Yevlakh, Goranboy, and Goychay. Students of the Mingachevir Medical College also participated in the race.
In the end, the first three participants to cross the finish line were declared winners and awarded prizes. Additionally, the winners earned the right to participate in the final race to be held in the city of Khankendi.
It is worth noting that this sporting event, dedicated to June 17 – the Professional Day of Healthcare Workers, aims to promote physical well-being, ensure the effective use of healthcare workers’ leisure time, and strengthen solidarity among trade union members.
