
An extraordinary conference of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of the Power Engineering and Electrical Industry, a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), was held.
The conference began with the playing of the National Anthem, followed by a minute of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.
The agenda of the conference included the appeal regarding the merger of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of Local Industry and Public Utility Enterprises with the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of the Power Engineering and Electrical Industry, amendments and additions to the Charter, and organizational matters.
During the discussions, it was noted that the proposed issues would contribute to increased efficiency in governance, optimization of financial and human resources, creation of additional financial sources, and the implementation of a unified approach to members working in similar sectors.
Following the discussions, the merger of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of Local Industry and Public Utility Enterprises with the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of the Power Engineering and Electrical Industry and a number of amendments to the Charter were put to a vote and approved. As a result, the organization was renamed the “Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of the Power Engineering and Public Utility Enterprises of Azerbaijan.” Members were also elected to the Republican Committee and the Audit Commission.
Head of the AHIK Secretariat Hasan Jafarov, who attended the conference, wished success to the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of the Power Engineering and Public Utility Enterprises in its future activities.
