A Memorandum Signed Between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and the Center for Social Research

Representatives of the Center for Social Research visited the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK).

Chairman of the Confederation, Mr. Sahib Mammadov, emphasized the favorable conditions created for the effective functioning of trade unions in the country and the attention and care shown to this sphere by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. He also spoke about the work carried out in the direction of protecting the labor, social, and economic rights of union members, ensuring their health, and organizing their treatment and recreation.

During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the reforms implemented within the trade union system, new initiatives, and projects such as "AHIK Volunteers", "Decent Work Ambassadors", "From Unionist to Unionist with Care", the "AHIK Plus" project, and the activities of the "Kurort" Tourism Information Center.

Subsequently, video materials highlighting the activities of AHIK, as well as the "Decent Work Ambassadors" and "From Unionist to Unionist with Care" projects, were presented.

Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) and Chairman of the Board of the Center for Social Research, Mr. Zahid Oruj, highly appreciated the reforms and innovations implemented by the Confederation. He underlined the role of trade unions in regulating labor relations and contributing to the development of civil society in the country.

Speaking about the activities and goals of the Center for Social Research, Mr. Zahid Oruj emphasized the importance of establishing and developing relations between the two institutions.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and the Center for Social Research.

Following the meeting, representatives of the Center for Social Research familiarized themselves with the conditions created at AHIK for citizen reception, the innovations introduced in the process of issuing vouchers at the "Kurort" Tourism Information Center, as well as the newly established Center for Labor Protection and Legal Assistance.
