A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (AHIK) with Sergejus Glovackas, Head of the ILO Bureau for Workers' Activities (ACTRAV) Office for Europe and Central Asia. The Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, spoke about the relations between Azerbaijani trade unions and the ILO, highlighting that Azerbaijan has ratified the ILO's 59th convention on workers' rights. During the meeting, it was emphasized that the protection of labor rights is one of the priorities of the state policy in Azerbaijan. Information was provided about the measures taken to ensure the health of union members, organize their treatment and rest, the reforms carried out by AHIK, and the innovations implemented. The Chairman of the Confederation also noted the importance of the meetings held with the ILO leadership in January of this year in Geneva, particularly in terms of exchanging experiences and expanding cooperation. Sergejus Glovackas, Head of the ILO Bureau for Workers' Activities (ACTRAV) Office for Europe and Central Asia, spoke about the cooperation between the two organizations, the projects and events being carried out, and praised the level of their relations. He emphasized the significance of ILO decisions and recommendations for trade unions and expressed confidence that bilateral relations would expand further. The parties exchanged views on the prospects for developing cooperation and other matters of mutual interest. After the meeting, the ILO representative visited the "Kurort" Tourism Information Center and was interested in the innovations applied in the process of issuing referrals.
