The history of field trade unions begins in the middle of the 20th century and currently there are more than 14 thousand union members in the ranks of the republican trade union.

The Republican Committee includes 176 first organizations, 10 United Trade Union Councils. The supreme organ of the field trade union is a congress held every 5 years.

The trade union is a member of the International Union of Trade Unions and the International Federation of Carriers.

In 2010, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed with the Georgian trade union.

In the interfaith period, the highest body is the Plenum, and its executive body is the Presidium.

The Republican Committee of the Aviation Workers Union is a member of the International Aviation Workers Union.
