Health Workers Trade Union Republican Committee was founded in 1905. The Committee includes 73 cities and districts, 375 primary trade union organizations, and has 125,621 members.
It unites workers working in the healthcare sector.
The supreme body of the Health Workers Trade Union is the Congress, which is convened every 5 years. In the period between congresses, the work of the trade union is managed by the Assembly. The Assembly is convened once a year. To operationally manage the activities of the Trade Union Committee, the Presidium of the Republican Committee is elected from among the members of the Assembly.
The sectoral trade union conducts its activities on the basis of the current legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Trade Unions", decisions and recommendations of the AHIK, as well as its own Charter.
The Health Workers Trade Union has an 80-seat "Shafa" recreation center, built and put into operation in 2016 in the Gusar district for the recreation of its members.
Trade Union Republican Committee actively cooperates with trade unions of foreign countries, including European Federation of Public Service Trade Union (EPSU) and International Trade Union Organization of Public service areas (PSI).
