Azerbaijan Cultural Workers Trade Union – the Union of printers began its activity as "society of workers of binding, printing and lithography" in November 1905 and continued its work as Trade Union of cultural workers since 1953. In 1992, on December 25, it was renamed Azerbaijan Cultural Workers Independent Trade Union.
After the Congress held in 2012 on October 9, the institution operates under the name of Cultural Workers Trade Union Republican Committee. It incorporates cultural, sports, tourism and media workers.
The committee includes 457 first, 64 district and City trade union organizations, has 45072 members.
The Azerbaijan Cultural Workers' Trade Union has been a member of the International Confederation of Trade Unions since 1992, of the International Public Service Organization (IPSO) since 2001, and of the European Public Service Organization (EPSU) since 2009.
At the same time, the Azerbaijan Cultural Workers' Trade Union, through the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, closely participates in the work of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU), strengthening cooperation relations with the aforementioned organizations.
