In 1923, some of the aviation personnel voluntarily merged into the “Zakavia” Aviation Society in the Baku Local Transport Union.

In 1934, a union of drivers and aviation workers was created, and in July 1937 the first conference was held.

AVIATION WORKERS UNION unite more than 10,000 union members 15 cover the first union.

The supreme body of the aviation workers' union is the Conference. The conference is held every 5 years. In the interfaith period, the highest body is the Plenum, and its executive body is the Presidium.

The Republican Committee of the Aviation Workers Union is a member of the International Aviation Workers Union.
