“The Second Karabakh War was a great test for Azerbaijanis around the world. Of course, the victory of our struggle was due to our unity and solidarity. Azerbaijanis living in different countries of the world had a great responsibility in this direction. Because it was more important to inform the world community that Azerbaijan was fighting for justice and against the occupation. And today we can proudly say that they fulfilled this mission tirelessly, in a more civilized and tidy manner, without fear of anything, with dignity. At that time, our diaspora organizations organized about 200 actions in the world’s leading countries and rendered unparalleled services in conveying our voice to the international community. Thousands of our compatriots took part in these actions and fought selflessly, showing the whole world how much they love their historical homeland and how much they are attached to it. In addition, our diaspora organizations and compatriots appealed in writing to the leaders and parliaments of the countries where they live, making statements calling on them to support the just cause of Azerbaijan. In short, they honorably fulfilled their duty to ensure our historic victory and played a major role in Azerbaijan’s victory. ”
This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), MP Sattar Mohbaliyev.
According to him, the highest value given to this great union, regardless of where our compatriots live, was the holding of the V Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Shusha, the beating heart of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis, the cultural capital of the Turkic world: “It is no coincidence that the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the architect of our historic victory, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, called this congress the Victory Congress. Because for almost 30 years we have fought tirelessly for the liberation of our historical lands. The last point of all the goals set by our state was united in Karabakh and its crown Shusha. At the previous Congresses of World Azerbaijanis, there was only one wish: to hold the next congress in Karabakh. This showed that our people will never reconcile with the ongoing Armenian occupation and defeat. Our tireless struggle for many years, the inexhaustible and unshakable exemplary unity of our people, the bravery of the invincible Azerbaijani Army, the leadership skills and diplomatic skills of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, led us to victory. That is why the Shusha Congress of World Azerbaijanis – the Congress of Victory is so magnificent and symbolic.
In his speech at the Congress, President Ilham Aliyev looked at the solidarity and unshakable unity of our people, the path that led us to victory, the path of our officers and soldiers in the 44-day Patriotic War. He spoke about the realities of the postwar period and the various tasks ahead. More important was President Ilham Aliyev’s response to Armenian fascism that could arise in the future. Of course, further provocations by the Armenians will destroy them. It is a simple logic that Armenia will never be able to compete with Azerbaijan.Because Armenia, which is weakening day by day, cannot stand in front of Azerbaijan in every sense of the word. They have a way out: to accept the realities authored by the victorious Azerbaijan. The opposite, of course, is evident from the Second Karabakh War.Because, as the head of state said, Azerbaijan is constantly increasing its military power for defense purposes and will continue to do so. It is able to respond appropriately to all possible provocations, “he said.
“President Ilham Aliyev called on diaspora organizations to inform the world community about the realities of the postwar period. Of course, this is a very important point. The world needs to know the realities that Azerbaijan has brought to the region. Some Armenian circles are trying to confuse with false and slanderous information. “Everyone should know that all the efforts of Azerbaijan are based on peace and stability in the region, broad cooperation, which is aimed at the comprehensive development of the entire region,” he said.
S.Mohbaliyev added that the Victory Congress once again demonstrated the unity and solidarity of Azerbaijanis to the whole world: “The Congress strengthened the national identity of our compatriots, increased the organization and activity of Azerbaijani communities in different countries, love for Azerbaijan, respect for national and spiritual values, patriotism will further increase their feelings. There are still many plans to see. Such is to convey the truth about our country to the world community, to promote our rich cultural heritage, to contribute to the restoration of East Zangazur and Karabakh. We believe that the solidarity we demonstrate today, faithful to the sacred words bequeathed to us by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the ideologue, propagandist and organizer of the national unity of world Azerbaijanis, will never be shaken, will always develop and strengthen.
