A parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova took part in an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the NIS Interparliamentary Assembly (PA) in Almaty. In her speech, Sahiba khanum informed the participants about the new realities in the region after the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from Armenian occupation. He said that these realities are based on peace and security and open new prospects for the whole region. She also stressed that Armenia must fulfill its obligations under the Tripartite Declaration.
This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev.
According to him, Sahiba responded to the fabricated allegations of the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan with logical arguments: “The chairman also demanded the immediate withdrawal of the remnants of Armenian troops and illegal Armenian armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan. In short, S. Gafarova represented the interests of our country with dignity in the NIS Interparliamentary Assembly. I consider the bilateral meetings held during the visit to be productive and useful. ”
S.Mohbaliyev regretted that instead of praising Sahiba Gafarova’s honorable representation of our country and protection of national interests, there are those who want to overshadow her successful mission due to some technical error: “The position of these people shows that they are not interested in Azerbaijan’s national interests. They are simply trying to tarnish the image of others, to confuse them, to create confusion in society. Mrs. Sahiba represented our country with honor as the Speaker of the Milli Majlis in all international platforms and bilateral meetings. Everyone must understand and accept that the people of Azerbaijan are united like an iron fist around President Ilham Aliyev and are moving forward with confidence towards a brighter future, and no one can stop us from this path.
