On October 30, an online meeting was held with the delegation of Turkey’s Eğitim-Bir-Sen trade union at the initiative of the Republican Committee of Education Workers Free Trade Union, a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
During the meeting, the issues of strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, increasing mutual visits and conducting exchanges of experience in the direction of protecting the rights of educational workers were discussed.
Araz Pashayev, the chairman of Republican Committee of Education Workers Free Trade Union, emphasized the importance of joint action in the direction of ensuring the rights of education workers in accordance with international labor standards and touched on the importance of the exchange of experience between the parties. The head of Eğitim-Bir-Sen, Ali Yalçın, emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two sister organizations, implementing joint trainings, seminars and professional development programs.
Also, Araz Pashayev invited Ali Yalchin to visit Azerbaijan in December and said that this visit will contribute to the further expansion of relations between the unions of education workers of the two countries. The chairman of Eğitim-Bir-Sen gladly accepted the invitation.
Also, other important issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
It should be noted that Eğitim-Bir-Sen is the largest trade union of education workers in Turkey with about 450,000 members and is included in the Memur-Sen Confederation. The Memur-Sen Confederation includes 11 regional trade unions and 1.1 million members.
