Today, 4 years have passed since the liberation of the city of Gubadli, which was occupied by Armenia for 27 years.
The city of Gubadli was liberated from occupation on October 25, 2020, the 29th day of the Patriotic War, as a result of the counterattack launched by the Azerbaijani Army. The Gubadli operation is one of the strategic and most important military successes of our war.
The fact that the Azerbaijani Army inflicted crushing blows on the enemy forces in Jabrayil and then Zangilan regions made it possible for our Armed Forces to enter the administrative boundaries of Gubadli region. During the operation, the number of desertions in the Armenian army, whose manpower and equipment were destroyed, increased, the fighting spirit of the enemy was dealt a crushing blow, and the mood of surrender on the other side increased a little.
According to the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev last year, October 25 was established as Gubadli City Day.
As in other regions freed from occupation, extensive construction and improvement works are being carried out in Gubadli district. Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev visited Gubadli district many times, took a close interest in the ongoing large-scale construction and construction works, and laid the foundations of new settlements.
It should be recalled that the city of Gubadli was occupied by the Armenian army on August 31, 1993. For 27 years, Armenians destroyed the city of Gubadli, the villages of the region, destroyed the infrastructure, as well as committed acts of vandalism against religious, historical, cultural monuments, cemeteries, destroyed the rich nature, flora and fauna of the region, and committed environmental terrorism that has no analogues in the world.
