A meeting of the Youth Council of AHIK was held, future tasks and directions of development were discussed

The first meeting of the Youth Council of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation was held On October 15 of 2024.

Heads of youth councils of member and subordinate organizations of the Confederation took part in the event organized at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations of AHIK.

At the event, the report of the Youth Council of AHIK for the relevant period was heard and current activities were analyzed.

The Chairman of the Youth Council of AHIK, Gara Agayev, spoke about the state’s concern for our youth, and said that the involvement of young personnel in state institutions and enterprises, their active participation in public, decision-making and labor activities is taken into account.

Emphasizing the importance of AHIK’s participation in the process of actively supporting the youth policy of our state, Gara Agayev said that approximately 30 percent of the members of the trade union are young people.

The chairman of the Youth Council talked about the projects implemented in the direction of increasing the professionalism of young people. He said that the purpose of this process is to increase the potential of young people, to expand their representation opportunities and to create conditions for them to take a more active role within trade unions.

Emphasizing that the youth council of AHIK is waiting for new projects, the chairman of the council said that there are new challenges before the council in the field of our youth having an important voice in the trade unions and the socio-economic development of our country.

Orkhan Arabov, adviser to the chairman of AHIK, who participated in the meeting, touched on the role of young people in the state building process and in the public life of the country. He noted that the youth policy founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev was successfully continued by the head of our state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and emphasized the importance of educating the young generation in a patriotic spirit, being loyal to the traditions of statehood, and their activeness in public life.

He said that a new approach is required from young people at the moment, and their coming up with ideas and suggestions is very important for the general work to be carried out in accordance with modern challenges. According to him, healthy competition, logical steps, actual criteria give evolution to development. He called on the members of the council to come up with new proposals during the term of office.

At the end, young people’s suggestions were heard and prospective development directions were discussed. At the same time, information was given on the new tasks ahead in the field of increasing the functionality and attractiveness of the Youth Council in the ecosystem of the trade union movement.
