A meeting was held with representatives of the Mediation Council in the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.

The discussion encompassed the roles and responsibilities of both the ATUC and the Mediation Council, spanning projects enacted by both entities, as well as prospects for joint cooperation. Chairman Sahib Mammadov emphasized that the activities of the ATUC are constantly being improved in the name of protecting the labor rights and legitimate interests of Union members. He noted that consistent and targeted measures are being taken to bring working conditions in line with advanced international standards, create healthy and safe working conditions.

Moreover, the discourse highlighted the ongoing efforts in the nation to dynamically bolster the prestige of trade unions and the satisfaction of their members. It was also noted that socio-economic relations are based on the principles of partnership, priority in solving complex issues is given to social dialogue.

The chairman underscored that cooperation between an employer and an employee, as well as trade unions and mediation representatives, can be effective in positively resolving individual and collective labor disputes arising from the application of labor legislation.

Chairman of the Mediation Council Nadir Adilov spoke about the work done by the structure he heads and noted the successful results in the field of mediation. He also positively assessed the prospects for joint activities to resolve pretrial labor disputes and expressed confidence that this would create a reliable basis for protecting workers’ rights.

At the meeting, a wide exchange of views was held on areas of interest to the parties, the importance of forming and developing joint cooperation was once again emphasized, proposals were made to organize trainings for labor inspectors and other relevant proposals.
