AHIK representatives participated in the international training

A training program on “Active participation of trade unions in the development, implementation and monitoring of Decent Labor Country Program (DLP)” was organized in Bakuriani settlement of Borjomi region of Georgia.

The event was attended by representatives of the trade unions of the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Ilyas Aliyev, the first deputy chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan (AHIK), Gara Agayev, the deputy chief of staff, and Tural Suleymanov, a specialist, were among the participants of the training.

Head of ILO/ACTRAV’s Eastern Europe and Central Asia Labor Office, Sergeyus Glovaskas, and Georgian Trade Union Confederation (GTUC) President Irakli Petriashvili presented a brief overview of the ILO’s mission and mandate. In the session on “Concept of Decent Work”, ILO chief expert Gocha Alexandria informed about the essence and main components of decent work, and discussions were held on job opportunities, social protection and social dialogue.

The training also provided extensive information about the ILO’s decent work mandate and Decent Labor Country Program (DLP), and discussed the role of the government, employers, workers and international partners in the development and implementation of Decent Labor Country Program (DLP).

In the panel discussions, representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova shared their experiences.
