“At the traditional Munich Security Conference, where the main topic of discussion is international security, the most important problems that concern the world are put on the agenda, and the conclusions reached have a rather large impact on the processes. The participation of heads of state, regional and international organizations, and leaders here shows the strength and importance of the platform, as well as the breadth of opportunities to influence global processes. It is known that the Munich Security Conference is more important in terms of contributing to the solution of emerging global problems and conflicts than some European institutions, which have already weakened, have no power left, do not keep up with the demands of the new era, and have been on the agenda with their hypocritical positions and biased approaches. As we know, Azerbaijan regularly participates in the annual meetings of the Conference at the head of state or other levels. On the one hand, this is related to the growing strategic importance of our country in the world, and on the other hand, the direct personal influence of our respected President Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), member of the Milli Majlis, expressed these views to the mass media.
“The fact that our President was invited to the 60th Munich Security Conference this year, received at a high level, and the large number of requests for meetings indicate that Mr. Ilham Aliyev occupies a special place among world leaders. The realities he brought to the region, his important contributions to peace and security in the world, and the importance of the projects he authored are already clearly understood by progressive international forces. Also, the realization of the meetings, especially at the request of the opposite parties, shows the continuously growing interest in our country. Because Azerbaijan is a reliable partner on all issues, the leader of the geography where it is located, sincere and responsible in its initiatives and steps. Of course, this is also an important factor in cooperation”, said the chairman of ATUC.
