A meeting with representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation. At the meeting, the developing Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations in various fields were discussed, the importance of mutual visits of the heads of the states in the enlargement of cooperation was emphasized, and relations between trade unions were discussed.

Emphasizing the important role of the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the President of Uzbekistan Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev in improvement a high level of relations between our countries, the chairman of the Confederation called the construction of a secondary school named after Mirza Ulugbey in Fuzuli district a brotherly support for the restoration and construction works carried out in Karabakh.

The chairman of the Confederation Sahib Mammadov informed the representatives of Uzbekistan about the activities of the trade unions of Azerbaijan, practices and applied innovations in the direction of protecting the labor, social, economic rights and legal interests of the members, protecting their health, organizing treatment and recreation, as well as about the sanatorium-resort establishments, their working principles, and the services provided.

It was reported that relations between Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan are continuously expanding. The Memorandum on cooperation signed in September of last year lended impetus to the establishment and development of relations between the trade unions of the two brotherly countries. It was emphasized that it is planned to implement joint projects on the organization of treatment and recreation of members of trade unions of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Anvar Ahmedov, the head of the Sanatorium-resort department under the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, spoke with satisfaction about the high level of relations between our countries and the two brotherly nations.

Anvar Ahmedov also spoke about the activities of the field he leads, the conditions created for the treatment and recreation of union members, and pointed out that the exchange of experience with his Azerbaijani colleagues will be useful for future activities.

Proposals on the development of relations were also voiced and initiatives were put forward at the meeting.

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit to Azerbaijan, the representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan visited the city of Naftalan, held a meeting in the executive branch, and also got acquainted with the sanatoriums and facilities of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan located in the city.
