On November 12, the International Labor Organization (ILO) organized a conference on the topic “New Social Contract: A Perspective from Trade Unions in Europe and Central Asia” in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The event, held with the aim of protecting labor rights and ensuring social justice, was attended by trade union leaders and labor experts from Europe and Central Asia. The participants included the head of the apparatus of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Hasan Jafarov, adviser to the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Fuad Alakbarov and senior- specialist Tural Suleymanov.
At the conference, Hasan Jafarov spoke about the achievements of Azerbaijan in labor relations, the work done to protect workers’ rights and ensure social justice in the labor market. He also noted the steps taken to strengthen the social contract and improve the well-being of workers in our country.
The conference included extensive discussions on topics such as prospects for further development of the labor market, the impact of modern technologies on the workforce, the importance of social dialogue, and the importance of creating new social contracts.
Participants shared their views on new strategies for further strengthening social policy and more effective protection of workers’ rights in the European and Central Asian regions.
The conference will last two days.
