Issues of cooperation between ATUC and the State Support Agency for NGOs were discussed

A meeting with representatives of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC).

During the meeting, large-scale works carried out in our country under the leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev were talked about the measures and projects implemented by ATUC and the agency for state support to NGOs, steps taken in the direction of strengthening civil society, and prospects for cooperation were discussed.

The chairman of the confederation, Sahib Mammadov, noted the protection of the labor rights of the members of the union, the creation of decent working conditions and the successful results obtained by the trade unions in this aspect, and the main goal is to adapt the working conditions to advanced international standards, create safe working conditions, protect the health of our citizens involved in the labor process, rest and he drew attention to the organization of free time.

It was emphasized that the Foreign Relations of ATUC are expanding, the relations with international trade unions and relevant bodies of Azerbaijan-friendly countries are at a high level, and it was noted that the country will work harder for its worthy representation in the international arena.

The chairman of the Confederation stressed that cooperation between ATUC and the agency for state support to NGOs will be an important contribution to the further development of civil society.

At the meeting, executive director of the agency for state support to NGOs Aygun Aliyeva spoke about the activities of the organization headed by her, and also spoke about the state policy towards the development of NGOs in our country, the projects implemented by them and their international relations. He noted that NGOs are also actively preparing for the 29th Session of the Conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and will contribute to the organization of this event at a high level.

The head of the agency also expressed readiness to actively support humanitarian projects that ATUC will implement in the liberated territories.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other areas of interest and once again emphasized the importance of developing cooperation.
