First Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) Ilyas Aliyev and advisor to ATUC chairman on international affairs Fuad Alakbarov attended the VIII Congress of Albania Independent Trade Unions.
Speaking at the event, Fuad Alakbarov greeted the participants of the Congress on behalf of ATUC chairman Sahib Mammadov and wished success to the work of the Congress.
Touching upon the relations between Azerbaijan and Albania, the adviser noted that as a result of the efforts of both heads of state, relations between our countries have developed in many areas.
Speaking about the cooperation of our countries in the area of trade unions, Fuad Alakbarov said that the relations were successfully continued within the International Trade Unions Confederation and other international organizations. He said that the agreement on cooperation between ATUC and Albania Independent Trade Unions in 2019 is an example of our close relations.
He said that through solidarity and joint efforts, we can create a fairer and more decent work environment for all employees. He also stressed that the decisions made at the Congress will make an important contribution to the protection of socio-economic rights of members and the solution of their social problems.
It should be noted that the Congress was attended by representatives of about 50 countries in the relevant area, including Azerbaijan. Gezim Kalaya was re-elected president of Albania Independent Trade Unions.
