On October 7, an event was held in the Nakhchivan Council of Trade Unions (NHISH), a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (AHIK), in connection with the World Decent Labor Day.
The event began with a one-minute silence and the playing of the National Anthem, commemorating the dear memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs.
Gazanfar Abdullayev, the deputy chairman of AHIK, the chairman of NHISH, delivered a speech and congratulated the members of the union on the occasion of World Decent Labor Day. He said that decent work is an integral part of the social policy implemented in our country, as well as in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. As a result of this, effective employment, healthy and decent workplaces and working conditions have been created for the citizens of our autonomous republic. The main purpose of the work is focused on the human factor and people’s comfort. It was emphasized that from now on, the Council will work diligently to create healthy and safe working conditions for employees at every workplace, and will provide substantial assistance to solve the problems and issues they face.
Then the speeches of Rashadat Khudaverdiyev, the secretary of the Council of Trade Unions of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan – the head of the labor protection department, Elchin Mammadov, the chairman of the joint trade union committee of Sharur district, and Matlab Mehraliyev, the instructor of the Trade Union of Entrepreneurial Workers’ Union, were heard. They talked about the improvement of the working conditions of the workers, the financial and moral support given to them by the organization in the social field, and the measures they implemented.
In the end, the Chairman of the Council, Gazanfar Abdullayev, gave instructions and recommendations to the autonomous republican, city and district committees and sectoral trade unions, which are members of the institution, regarding the provision of decent work for workers.
