Protection and strengthening of workers’ health, effective and meaningful organization of rest, which favors the increase of labor capacity, the increase of quality and productivity in the work process, is the priority direction of trade unions’ activity within the framework of the protection of labor rights. Currently, the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions (AHİK) is taking systematic and purposeful measures in the direction of organizing the treatment of union members and creating more modern and effective conditions for them to rest comfortably during the vacation period, as well as applying the progressive aspects of international experience.
For this purpose, AHIK Chairman Sahib Mammadov visits the sanatorium-resort establishments and recreation centers located in the remote corners of our country belonging to the Confederation, as well as member and subordinate organizations, he is interested in the current situation, he gets acquainted with the treatment and recreation conditions.
This time, the chairman of AHIK visited the recreation centers of trade unions located in Nabran settlement of Khachmaz district and Gusar district.
The chairman of the Confederation, who came to the “Shafa” Recreation Center of the Republican Committee of the Azerbaijan Health Workers Trade Union, a member organization of AHIK in Gusar region, toured the area, visited living rooms, a dining room, and a food warehouse and got acquainted with the conditions.
Then, the “Khazar” Recreation Center of the Tourism and Excursions Council, a subordinate organization of AHIK, was inspected, and the current conditions were studied.
The chairman of AHIK, who is in the recreation center for cultural workers, which is under construction, got acquainted with the work done here. It was reported that cottages, a residential building and an administrative building will be built in the recreation center covering an area of 2.8 hectares. Also, a large park will be built, a gymnasium and playgrounds will be built for meaningful recreation of vacationers.
The next inspection was carried out at the “Ulfat” Recreation Center of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of State Departments and Public Service Employees, a member organization of AHIK. It was reported that the recreation center built in 2010 has cottages and recreation buildings, sports grounds, a swimming pool, and a park for the use of guests. The center has facilities for recreation of 98 people at the same time, and more than 1000 people during the season. It was reported that an orchard was also planted in the territory of the center.
Following the Chairman of AHIK, who got acquainted with the “Lokomotiv” Rest Center of railway workers, he came to the “Tahsil” Rest Center of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers, a member organization of the Confederation. It was reported that “Tahsil” Recreation Center, opened in 2013, covers an area of more than 10 hectares. It includes 3 three-story residential buildings, cottages, dining hall, gym, soccer and volleyball fields, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, conference hall and other facilities. About 800 people can relax in the center at the same time.
While inspecting the recreation centers, the chairman of AHIK gave instructions and recommendations regarding the observance of technical safety rules in the facilities, improvement of the service level and taking all necessary measures for the satisfied departure of the vacationers.
