Today at 12 o’clock in the territory of Azerbaijan, the dear memory of our martyrs, who fought heroically and died for the integrity of our country in the 44-day Patriotic War, was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The leadership and staff of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (AHIK) also commemorated our martyrs with a minute’s silence in front of Heydar Aliyev’s bust in the lobby of the institution’s building.
AHIK Chairman Sahib Mammadov in his speech emphasized the importance of the order of the President of our state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, regarding the establishment of the Day of Remembrance. He said that it is an indication of the highest respect for our heroic soldiers and officers, as well as all our martyrs, who died on the way to the Motherland.
According to him, Remembrance Day also has a great role in educating young people in the spirit of loyalty to the Motherland and in strengthening the solidarity of our people.
The chairman of AHIK said that the dear memory of our martyrs, who cleansed Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh from the enemy, gave our nation the joy of an incomparable Victory, and made it known as a fighting nation in the world, will always live in our hearts.
