“September 27 – Remembrance Day is significant for every Azerbaijani, we commemorate our courageous martyrs with pride, pride and deep respect. They are the symbols of the greatest Victory of our ancient history, whose fame and glory spreads all over the world and is based on millennia – the liberation of Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh from occupation. September 27, which is the beginning of the magnificent Victory Road, will remain forever in the history of Azerbaijan as a demonstration of the national will, unchanging and decisive position to the world. The brave and courageous boys of our people, when they set out on this holy road with a high determination to win, knew well that death is not an exception. But they put the love of the Motherland above everything, even the love of life. By rising to the height of martyrdom, they became a great example for future generations and showed that the motherland is the most sacred value for us. They declared that if the topic is Azerbaijan, the state, independence, land, then even death cannot scare us. They sacrificed their lives so that our tricolor State Flag could fly majestically in all parts of our country, and our people would live happily and in harmony. Living for the motherland, having a free and sovereign state, and uniting firmly around it are the values that our forefathers – Babak, Javanshir, Shah Ismail Khatai, Heydar Aliyev – left us as a legacy. The future generations must follow this path so that our native Azerbaijan will always exist.”
Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) Sahib Mammadov said these thoughts in his statement to mass media on September 27 – Memorial Day.
According to him, under the leadership of our head of state Mr. Ilham Aliyev, such an environment was formed in our country that our young people were educated in the spirit of patriotism, and all conditions were created by our state for their scientific, knowledgeable and healthy upbringing: “It is the result of this policy that the main leading part of our society Our young people completed the highest and most difficult mission with an incomparable victory, they took the revenge of all our martyrs, including the Khojaly genocide, and gladdened their souls. They fought like men, they did not target women, children, old people, civilians and objects if they were on the enemy, they only fought against the armed aggressor army. As we know from history, war has its own laws, sometimes retreats and failures in various directions can be experienced. But the plan for liberating the lands of Azerbaijan was prepared so perfectly that at the same time the fighting spirit of our soldiers and officers was so high that our invincible army only moved forward, every step they took, all the operations they carried out ended with victory. There was not a single deserter in the Azerbaijan Army, everyone was determined to fight and win, to successfully execute the order of the Great Commander, Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The despicable situation of the aggressor Armenian army is a subject of laughter in the world even today, there were cases of desertion on the enemy front, soldiers and officers ran away from the battlefield. All this shows the high commanding ability of the Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the power of the Azerbaijan Army.”
“Of course, we cannot forget the parents, spouses and relatives of the martyred children of the Motherland on Memorial Day. Parents sent their children to the front with great enthusiasm for victory. They only thought about the liberation of our lands at any cost and were very optimistic. They knew that the children they raised and brought up would expel the enemy from our territories and ensure the integrity of our Motherland. At the funeral of our martyrs, mothers and fathers did not bend their legs, they held their heads high and welcomed the funeral of their children with pride. The wives of the fallen soldiers and officers were in the same spirit, and we even saw their faithful spouses carrying the coffins on their shoulders. Our citizens rushed to the burial of the martyrs, everyone became one heart and united like an iron fist. It goes without saying that this unbreakable unity is the main guarantor of the brilliant Victory,” the AHIK chairman noted.
“Azerbaijan, which ended the occupation and completely restored its territorial integrity thanks to the bravery of the heroic sons of the Motherland, is now at a new stage of its development. Of course, even at this stage, greater victories await our state and people. On September 23, the head of the country, who participated in the first meeting of the seventh convocation of the Milli Majlis, highlighted the military power factor while talking about the future plans of our country. It is known that the world is experiencing tense moments, difficult processes, and heavy wars continue. According to President Ilham Aliyev, the concept of international law has been completely shaken. There is no one who ignores it. We experienced in our own lives that international law was insignificant during the 30-year-long occupation, and we saw the UN resolutions that remained on paper. Therefore, being strong, protecting independence and territorial integrity, increasing military power are the main factors. As our President said, revanchist forces are also emerging in Armenia. Of course, all their dreams will remain as a dream in front of the strong and invincible Azerbaijani Army. In his speech, Mr. Ilham Aliyev also voiced his views on the Minsk Group. I believe that perhaps there has never been such an insignificant institution in the world as the Minsk Group. Because for many years he evaded the tasks he undertook, he was purposefully engaged in prolonging the conflict. Today, in the conditions of ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the formal maintenance of the Minsk Group is political shame in itself,” Sahib Mammadov concluded.
