Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) Sahib Mammadov visited the AHIK Republican Council on Tourism and Excursions.
The Chairman of the Council, Ilmir Ismayilov, informed the Chairman of AHIK about the activity of the institution, tourist bases. He said that during the leave period, the organization creates all conditions for the members of the union to spend their time effectively and have a meaningful rest. According to him, during the summer season, a large number of union members spend family vacations in the tourist bases of the Council. The chairman of the confederation inspected the administrative building, toured the rooms, inquired about the working conditions of the employees, and gave a number of tasks and recommendations.
Then, the chairman of the Confederation Sahib Mammadov visited Azerbaijan Trade Unions Association of Sports Organizations (AHITA) of AHIK. The chairman visited the working rooms, coach, changing rooms and gyms and got acquainted with the created conditions.
It should be noted that the structure of the institution includes 5 sports societies – “Mahsul”, “Spartak”, “Zenith”, “Youth”, “Karabagh” and 4 sports clubs – “Atilla”, “Pahlavan”, “Chess and Checkers”, “Alpinizm”. and tourism”. 16 types of sports are developed in sports organizations (freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, boxing, judo, sambo, karate, chess, checkers, athletics, weightlifting, shooting, rhythmic gymnastics, football, basketball, taekwondo, mountaineering). Athletes of the association won 191 gold, 126 silver, and 164 bronze medals in the competitions held in 2023. 32 of the medals were obtained at the European and world championships.
In the competitions held in January-September 2024, athletes won a total of 305 medals (86 gold, 90 silver, 129 bronze), of which 21 were European medals, 4 were from the world championship, 48 were from various international tournaments, 232 and belongs to the republic competitions. In 2023, 43 of the 104 events held by AHITA’s sports organizations were public health events, and 61 were sports competitions, and 4068 athletes participated in these events.
The chairman of the Confederation visited the “Zenit” Sports Society of AHITA, visited the gyms, was interested in the conditions, and watched the training process of the athletes.
Binyamin Mansimzadeh, the chairman of the association, said that 2 Children’s and Youth Sports Schools (UGIM) operate under the sports society. UGIMs are located in the cities of Baku and Sumgait. Those schools train high-level athletes in freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, boxing, taekwondo and sambo.
AHIK chairman Sahib Mammadov also visited AHITA’s Yasamal district stadium. The chairman visited the football fields here and was interested in the situation.
In the end, the chairman of the Confederation gave instructions to the management of AHITA to improve the conditions in the gymnasiums, equip them with tools and equipment according to new standards.
