AHIK Chairman Sahib Mammadov met with the Turkish counterparts

Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Sahib Mammadov met with Ergun Atalay, the chairman of the Trade Union Organization of Turkish States (TDHIT), head of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Turkey (TÜRK-İŞ), who are visiting our country.

At the meeting, they talked about friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, continuously developing cooperation in all fields, mutual support, as well as existing relations between the trade unions of our countries.

AHIK Chairman Sahib Mammadov noted the special services and personal friendship of President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan in reaching this level of relations between the two countries, which have become an example in the world. He said that our relations, strengthened by the Shusha Declaration, have passed the tests of history and are based on gratuitous brotherhood. Sahib Mammadov particularly emphasized the moral and political support of Turkey to Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War and said that Azerbaijan stood by its brother during the earthquake and forest fires. At the same time, the chairman of AHIK spoke about the relations between the trade unions of the two countries. He noted that organized mutual visits, exchanges of ideas and experiences help our efficient activities and strengthen our friendship.

Mentioning the creation of the Turkish States Trade Union Organization a historical event, the chairman of the Confederation emphasized that the organization will justify the trust of its members with its effective activity.

Expressing his satisfaction to be in Azerbaijan, the chairman of TURK-ISH, Ergun Atalay, thanked Sahib Mammadov for inviting him to the international conference on “Climate changes and fair transition: the role and activities of trade unions” held in Baku organized by AHIK. He said that the participation in the conference, the discussions, the initiatives put forward and the results obtained will be very useful for them in the process of transition to the “green economy”. Ergun Atalay also appreciated the relations between the trade unions of both countries, but said that they will not be satisfied with this, they will try to expand cooperation further with joint efforts.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on areas of mutual interest.
