Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (AHIK) Sahib Mammadov met with Igor Zubko, the president of the Pan-European Regional Council (PERC), who is on a visit to our country.
At the meeting, the chairman of AHIK talked about the steps taken by the Azerbaijani trade unions regarding the protection of labor rights of the workers, the innovations they applied, the practices they preferred, and he mentioned the upcoming plans.
He also talked about the work done by AHIK in order to achieve a fair transition against the background of climate changes and protect workers’ rights more reliably.
Emphasizing that AHIK attaches special importance to the relations with PERC, the Chairman of the Confederation Sahib Mammadov said that they will actively work towards deepening these relations.
Thanking for the meeting, PERC President Igor Zubko talked about the importance of the international conference on “Climate changes and fair transition: the role and activities of trade unions”, which he attended in Baku, and the relevance of the topic, and noted that the results will be useful for all participants.
He said that the activity and experience of AHIK is an example for trade unions of many countries, and PERC is happy to cooperate with this institution. The guest expressed confidence that AHIK will protect the rights of its members based on new development realities and modern challenges.
The meeting also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
