The 7th extraordinary Congress of ATUC was held

On August 26, the VII extraordinary congress of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) was held.

The chairman of the ATUC, deputy of the Milli Majlis of the VI convocation Sattar Mohbaliyev welcomed the participants. Then the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played, and the memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.

In accordance with the regulations, the composition of the editorial and calculating commissions of the Congress and members of the Secretariat were elected and approved daily. An organizational issue was included in the agenda of the Congress.

Speaking at the event, ATUC chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev spoke about the work done during the past period of his leadership of the Confederation, achievements gained, real steps taken for the protection of the rights of trade unions, labor, social, economic rights and legal interests of their members, voiced indicators, as well as spoke about the international authority of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.

Then Sattar Mohbaliyev announced his resignation from the chairmanship of ATUC, taking into account the large number of his work as a deputy of the Milli Majlis. His resignation was voted on and accepted by the participants of the Congress.

 

At the Congress, elections were held for the post of chairman of ATUC. Sahib Ali Oglu Mammadov, representative of the Congress of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of State Departments and Public Service Workers of Azerbaijan, was nominated for the post of Chairman, and he was unanimously elected chairman of ATUC by open voting.

Sahib Mammadov thanked the participants of the Congress who expressed confidence in him and stressed that he would work diligently in the direction of development of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, protection of labor rights of its members, creation of working conditions in accordance with the norms for them, Organization of recreation and protection of their health. He said that the activities of the Confederation will continue to provide transparency, equality, inclusivity, best practices will be applied, relations with trade unions of foreign countries will be expanded, as well as real steps will be taken to further increase the prestige of trade unions in our country.
