A series of events were held within the framework of “Human Rights Month” in Agrarian Research Center, Gakh, Zagatala, Balakan and Neftchala.
The Ministry of Agriculture continues a series of events within the framework of “Human Rights Month” announced by the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan. With the support of the Union of Trade Unions of Agrarian Field Workers, this time an educational event was held at the Agrarian Research Center on the provision of human rights and freedoms.
Speaking at the event, Fuad Mammadov, Chairman of the Union of Trade Unions of Agricultural Field Workers, said that June 18 was established as Human Rights Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated June 18, 2007, and it has been celebrated every year for 17 years. is noted. Recalling that May 18-June 18 has traditionally been declared “Human Rights Month” by the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fuad Mammadov said that educational activities play an important role in raising the level of public awareness in the field of promoting human rights.
Akif Valiyev, scientific secretary of the Agrarian Research Center, brought to the attention of the event participants that the provision of human rights and freedoms is the highest goal of the state. Akif Valiyev added that the adopted laws and decisions ensure reliable protection of human rights and freedoms in our country.
Later, presentations were held on standards related to labor protection, maintenance of workers’ health and working capacity, and organizational, technical, sanitary-hygienic, and curative-prophylactic measures aimed at providing workers with decent working conditions. Those who spoke at the event emphasized that the events organized within the framework of “Human Rights Month” play an important role in promoting human rights in our country, as well as protecting the rights of various groups of the population and solving their problems. At the end, the questions of the event participants were answered.
Institutions included in the structure of the Ministry of Agriculture organize various awareness-raising events and discussions on topics that promote human rights in the regions. Thus, within the framework of “Human Rights Month”, meetings were held on “Essence of Human Rights and Freedoms” in Gakh, Zagatala, Balaken and Neftchala state agrarian development centers. Opening the event with an introductory speech, the head of the Organizational Department of the Union of Agrarian Field Workers’ Union, Anar Taghiyev, talked about the purposeful work done at the state level in the direction of protecting human rights and legal interests. He spoke about the activities of Trade Unions related to the protection of labor rights.
The director of Gakh State Agrarian Development Center Mahammad Fataliyev, the director of Balaken State Agrarian Development Center Mahammad Sharifov, the director of Zagatala State Agrarian Development Center Vagif Shabanov, who spoke at the event, gave detailed information to the event participants about the extensive activities carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture in the field of human rights protection and promotion. Heads of the institution touched on the organization of the work process in the state agricultural development centers, the services provided to farmers, and emphasized that special sensitivity was paid to ensuring the rights and freedoms of the producers of agricultural products during the activity.
Speakers speaking at the event brought to the attention of the event participants that the provision of human rights and freedoms is the highest goal of the state and that the state guarantees the protection of the rights and freedoms of everyone.
