On May 31, the XVIII report-election conference of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers was held. Before the conference, the Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers, MP of Milli Majlis, Sattar Mohbaliyev, and the representatives of the conference paid tribute to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and laid wreaths and flowers in front of his grave. The memory of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Ms. Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated, and flowers were laid on her grave.
Alley of martyrs was also visited by the participants of the conference, bouquets of flowers were laid on the graves of martyrs.
Then the conference of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers began in the building of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers and ATUC, vice-president of the International Trade Unions Confederation, Pan European Regional Council, Confederation of all-union unions and Trade Unions Organization of Turkic states, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev welcomed the participants and announced the conference open.
Then the National Anthem was played, the memory of great leader Heydar Aliyev, our martyrs and members of the Union who died was commemorated with a minute of silence.
In accordance with the regulations, the Presidium of the conference, the composition of the editorial, mandate and calculating commissions and members of the Secretariat were elected and approved daily.
The agenda includes the report of the work performed by the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers for 2017-2024, the report of the Audit Commission, the selection of the new composition of the Assembly, the selection of the new composition of the Audit Commission, the acceptance of the Appeal to the President of Azerbaijan and organizational issues (Members of the Assembly, Azerbaijan Education Workers Issues regarding the election of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union) were included.
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan, made a report on the work done for 2017-2024. First of all, he spoke about the role and state support of great leader Heydar Aliyev in the transformation of the trade union of Azerbaijan into a strong organization, the comprehensive development indicators of our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, ensuring the territorial integrity of our country with unprecedented victories, The Great Return program, as well as educational achievements in recent years.
Regarding the activities of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers, the chairman said that the institution works hard to fulfill its functions and duties properly: “In the reporting period, 9 meetings of the Assembly and 53 meetings of the Presidium were held. The discussed issues were mainly related to protection of labor, social, economic rights and legal interests of union members, safe working conditions, rest and treatment. A significant increase in the number of Union members was observed. Trade union structure, membership and registration issues have been improved. In the past period, 440,932 applications were received from union members to city, district and regional organizations, all applications were carefully examined and necessary assistance was provided to them. Of these appeals, 6,143 were related to the protection of labor rights, 5,716 were related to the work of trade union bodies, 83,617 were related to socio-economic issues, and 345,456 were related to the provision of financial assistance. 419625 of the received appeals were resolved positively. During this period, 31 thousand 942 trips were bought at the expense of the ATUC and trade union budgets, and 55 thousand 126 union members and their family members were provided with rest and treatment.”
Sattar Mohbaliyev said that a draft of a new collective agreement was prepared by the Republican Committee during the reporting period, discussions were held together with the relevant commission of the Ministry of Science and Education and Collective Agreements were signed for 2017-2019, 2019-2021, 2021-2023 and 2023-2025: “Member organizations belonging to the service of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan also signed collective agreements. Over the past seven years, hundreds of union members have been restored to their previous work. In connection with the COVID 19 pandemic, the Republican Committee and member organizations provided financial assistance to 64,139 union members infected with the coronavirus, and 45,443 families received food aid. In addition, a significant number of protective equipment was purchased and distributed to trade union members. In the Patriotic War, which ended in our brilliant victory, 760 educators participated in the battles. 21 of them were killed. The book entitled “heroic education workers” was published with the financial and design of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan and the memory of our martyred union members was immortalized. Member organizations provided financial assistance and food parcels to more than 15,800 members of the Union and families of martyrs who participated in the war. In addition, the families of martyrs, veterans and veterans were sent 987 people to sanatoriums and recreation places for 1634 people. Also, the Republican Committee took care of 32 families of martyrs.”
After the speech, discussions were held around the report, the organization’s activities were considered satisfactory and confirmed by a majority of votes. Also, the report of the Audit Commission was heard and put to a vote.
A new composition of the Assembly and Inspection Commission was also elected at the conference.
The issue of the election of the chairman and deputies of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan was also considered on the agenda. It was noted that at meetings and conferences held in member organizations, Sattar Suliddin Oglu Mohbaliyev was nominated for the post of Chairman and decisions were made on putting today’s conference for discussion. This decision was supported by the conference participants and vice-president of the International Confederation of Trade Unions, Pan European Regional Council, Confederation of all-union unions and Trade Unions Organization of Turkic states, chairman of ATUC, MP Sattar Suliddin Oglu Mohbaliyev was re-elected as chairman of the Republican Committee of Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan education workers by open voting.
Sattar Mohbaliyev thanked the participants of the conference who trusted him and stressed that he would further work more diligently in the direction of effective activity of the organization headed by him, protection of labor rights of education workers, creation of working conditions in accordance with the norms for them, Organization of their rest and protection of their health.
At the same time, Humbat Nagiyev was elected First Deputy Chairman, and Mirza Jafarzade was elected deputy.
At the end, an appeal was addressed to the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the participants of the conference.
