A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Council of Trade Unions of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was held on May 1. At the meeting held with the participation of the chairman of the council, Gazanfar Abdullayev, a decision was made to establish the institution’s Center for Gender Equality and Women’s Issues. The chairman and members of the center were elected.
Then the full session of the Council began. Nusrat Asadov, head of the Council’s General Affairs Department, spoke at the meeting and read the draft decision. It was reported that the Center was organized with at least 5 members and will operate on a permanent basis.
Gunel Nur, appointed director of the Center for Gender Equality and Women’s Issues, gave a speech and gave information about the Center. He said that the Center will try to strengthen the potential and role of women who are its members in the structures of the Council, as well as in the unions, reduce the obstacles facing them and implement successful projects to achieve gender equality in all areas.
