On May 20, students ‘ student camp “Sustainable Development Goals” was organized at Agbulag Recreation Center by the Council of Trade Unions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nakhchivan State University.
Nijat Yagubov, chairman of the trade union committee of Nakhchivan State University, gave detailed information about the program and purpose of the camp. He noted that the Nakhchivan Trade Unions Council always supports students and 3 camps were organized for students with the support of the Council.
Then, speaking at the event, the press secretary of the Council Gunel Nur said that the organization represented by him is contributing to large-scale environmental measures implemented in our country within the framework of the “year of solidarity for the Green World”. It was emphasized that the purpose of today’s camp is to encourage everyone, especially young people, to take an active part in environmental processes. Then he wished the students a pleasant and fruitful rest.
Then, rector advisor on strategic issues of Nakhchivan State University Recep Jafarli made a speech and brought to the attention that the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 consist of 17 main goals adopted at the UN General Assembly. He said that the goals aimed at the strategic development of the world by 2030 were green energy, protection of Nature, end of hunger and other issues. It was emphasized that our main goal today is to conduct research in these areas in higher schools and bring it to the public.
The event continued with performances by trainers and students.
It should be noted that the camp, which is attended by 35 students, has organized trainings, games and team work on various topics. It should also be noted that at the end, young people who distinguished themselves in the trainings organized in the camp will be awarded.
