“A new era has begun in the history of Azerbaijan, we have entered this new era with honor and dignity. Our strong state has successfully fulfilled all the tasks it has set for itself during the past period, realized all the wishes and desires of our people with high achievements. The greatest peak of the work done is, of course, the liberation of Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh from occupation. This was not only remembered for ensuring our territorial integrity, but also showed the strength and power of Azerbaijan to the world community, and declared the perseverance and determination of our people and its leader. Undoubtedly, the new era we are entering will be full of great achievements. As we know, the most important of the new development goals of our country defined by the head of state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, is to eliminate the consequences of the occupation in Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh, to successfully continue the reconstruction works, and to return the residents to their homes. It goes without saying that this is not an easy task, because building new modern cities, towns, and villages in completely destroyed areas and creating all conditions for people to live comfortably requires great economic power. Both our people and the international community clearly see that Azerbaijan is responsible for this task. It is an indicator of systematic and quality work that some of the residents have already returned to their homes and are living happily.”
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK), member of the Milli Majlis, expressed these views to the mass media.
We are sure that in the near future, Agdam region will be completely restored, will look even better than before and will become a developed part of our country. The most important gift to our nation on Independence Day was the settlement of residents in Khojaly, which is our crown of honor. Because everyone knows how sensitive this city is for us. The greatest tragedy of the century was committed here, and hundreds of people, including the elderly, children and women, were brutally murdered. The Khojaly genocide against humanity is as bloody and terrible as Khatyn, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Songmi. Nationalist-chauvinist Armenians mercilessly committed these acts that do not belong to human nature.
Even the owners of this deed considered themselves heroes at the time, so they received awards from their state. Today, it is clear to everyone what a disgraceful situation they are in.”
“It is very proud to see the people of Khojaly in their home. The feeling of joy and happiness on their faces makes every representative of our people happy. Thanks to Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, thanks to his hard work, selfless work, well-thought-out policy and leadership skills, today we see the people of Khojaly in their homes. So far, 44 families, i.e. 169 people, have been permanently settled in Khojaly city. We believe that all residents will return home soon. Our powerful state will deal with all these tasks properly and on time,” the MP of the Milli Majlis emphasized.
