“Discussion of extremely important and urgent issues related to the future of the world, including humanity, and the adoption of unified decisions on solving global problems have already become a tradition in our country. In a way, Baku plays the role of the center of the world, and the experience of recent years confirms this once again. These days, another prestigious event – the VI World Intercultural Dialogue Forum on “Dialogue for peace and global security” is being held in our capital. As we know, the World Intercultural Dialogue Forum is a part of the “Baku Process” initiated by the head of our state Mr. Ilham Aliyev. This initiative, which is of great importance in terms of promoting moral and cultural values, is the only global platform in the world in the field of intercultural dialogue. It is also clear from its name and purpose that today the state of Azerbaijan, especially its President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, makes unparalleled contributions to dialogue, mutual understanding, peace and security in the world.”
Sattar Mohbaliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK), member of the Milli Majlis, expressed these views to the mass media.
“We see that the discussions, final decisions and signed documents on various topics in the forums held so far have been welcomed by international institutions and the world community, especially as a source of reference. Therefore, “Baku Process” has gained the status of the most reliable platform in the field of intercultural dialogue. Also, this is an important tool that promotes the fact that our country is a place of intercultural and interreligious dialogue. We can proudly say that representatives of different nations and religions have lived as a happy and friendly family in Azerbaijan since ancient times. A coexistence environment based on the principles of mutual respect and understanding has always existed here. Due to these qualities, our country is set as an example in the world as a place where tolerance and multiculturalism are established, its achievements are highly appreciated, and its successful experience is studied,” said the deputy of the Milli Majlis.
According to him, the theme of the 6th World Intercultural Dialogue Forum is extremely relevant: “The development of the world, the happy and prosperous future of mankind is based on peace and security. Healthy cross-cultural communication, mutual trust and understanding are very important for this. I am sure that the discussions held here, the opinions expressed and the final decision will be very useful for solving the problems in this area. President Ilham Aliyev, who participated in the event, touched on a number of important points in his speech, in particular, he spoke about the importance of multiculturalism and shared the experience of Azerbaijan. Of course, without such values, if they are not protected and developed, stability will not be achieved, and peace and security will be at risk. It has always been the case that discrimination can lead to tension and even serious conflicts. The world is a witness that tolerance and multicultural values are at the root of solid stability, solidarity and healthy society in Azerbaijan.”
“In his speech, our head of state also mentioned his chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement of Azerbaijan. We can say with certainty, as well as this is acknowledged by the international community, that the development of the Movement, its brightest period, the increase of its influence, and its transformation into a voice were precisely during the presidency of Azerbaijan. With the initiatives it has put forward and the work it has done, Azerbaijan has given a new image to this institution and revealed a right approach to issues.
Our presidency coincided with a difficult turning point, the disease was raging all over the planet, leading to great complications. In such complex conditions, Azerbaijan behaved responsibly as the chairman, took important and effective initiatives, especially fought with dignity against vaccine nationalism by calling the world for justice. He also exposed those who violated the requirements of international law, interfered in the internal affairs of countries, created enmity, supported separatism, and showed that neocolonialism is an ugly policy. Unfortunately, even in the 21st century, such situations are happening, and in the fight against it, Azerbaijan shows a rightful position in the world and raises its voice of protest – Sattar Mohbaliyev completed his opinion.
