On May 13, an event on “a healthy family is the foundation of a healthy future” was organized by the Center for Gender equality and women’s problems of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.
The event dedicated to May 15-International Family Day was attended by representatives of ATUC member organizations in the relevant field, experts, active members of trade unions.
Making an opening speech, Head of the Analytical Research Department of ATUC on cultural and domestic problems of workers Namig Huseynov spoke about family relations, family values established in our country, family policy of our state.
He said that the family policy of great leader Heydar Aliyev is being purposefully implemented in Azerbaijan today. President Ilham Aliyev has always noted that at the heart of our policy is the citizen of Azerbaijan, his interests and well-being. The head of the Department said that Azerbaijan trade unions have a unique role and rich experience in family relations, in solving gender problems, in protecting the rights of men and women: ILO Convention No. 156 on “employees with family obligations” is in the spotlight. Attention is paid to the organization of workplaces, taking into account the interests of the family. ATUC, together with the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, implemented a special project on the topic “a healthy family is the foundation of a healthy future”. The organization and implementation of complex measures envisaged by joint efforts will increase the formation of the country’s families in a healthy environment and their role in the development of society in general.”
