An international forum on “Motivating, acting, developing” is being held in Baku under the joint organization of the International Trade Union of Education Workers and the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers.

The forum is attended by representatives of trade unions of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

Javanshir Alkhasov, Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan (AHIK), spoke at the opening ceremony of the forum.

He said that the fertile conditions created by our state for trade unions to be able to operate independently, the important importance given to the role of this institution in the life of society at the level of the country’s leadership, and the consideration of the opinion of trade unions during the adoption of laws and decisions related to labor rights of citizens inspire us to new successes:

“One of the most important places among the activities of trade unions in Azerbaijan is the activity related to youth. In general, the implementation of youth policy in our country is one of the priority directions. As an active participant in the youth policy of the state, we are trying to make these young people become trade union members at the same time. The state has created all kinds of conditions for trade unions to establish activities in this direction.

According to him, the topic of motivation for trade union membership is relevant all over the world: “Today, important work is being done in Azerbaijan to eliminate unemployment and new jobs are being opened. More than 3 million of the country’s population work in various fields. More than 180,000 students study in higher and secondary educational institutions of the country. Currently, 1,600,000 workers and about 120,000 students join the ranks of trade unions. We are working and actively working to increase the number of our members.

One of the goals of organizing this event is to exchange views on increasing the importance and reputation of city, district and regional unions by attracting new members, protecting and strengthening the unity of trade unions. I believe that we will host an important event in this regard.”

Other speeches were also heard at the forum, discussions were held on the motivation of young people to join the trade union, and experience was exchanged.

It should be noted that the event will last two days.
