Women’s Day celebrated in ANAS

Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) hosted an event dedicated to March 8 – International Women’s Day organized by the Free Trade Union.

The event was attended by the chairmen of Trade Unions of scientific research institutions of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the leadership and activists of the women’s Council of ANAS, young scientists distinguished in ANAS and in the scientific and public life of our country.

First, the memory of our martyrs and great leader Heydar Aliyev was remembered with a minute of silence and the National Anthem was played.

Opening the event, Chairman of the Free Trade Union Sanan Hasanov spoke about the series of events held at ANAS and the successful report of the Academy to the public of the country, the assessment of the leadership of ANAS for women researchers. Speaking about the role of women in society and family, Sanan Hasanov stressed that as a result of the policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, equal opportunities have been created for women in all spheres of public life today. The wide representation of women along with men in all spheres is a clear example of the respect and attention shown to them at the state level in our country.

The chairman of the Free Trade Union brought to the attention that all conditions have been created for the activities of women in the institutes and organizations of ANAS. In recent years, women have assessed the achievements of researchers as the result of this care. The women working at the Academy have made their contribution to the development of Azerbaijani science with their important research.

Deputy Chairman of the women’s Council of Anas Mahrukh Najafli and chairman of the trade union of the Institute of history and Ethnology Haji Hasanov said that March 8 is the International Day of solidarity of women in the struggle for economic, political and public rights equality. It was noted that the role of women in all spheres of public life in our country is increasing every year, they actively participate in social, socio-economic, scientific and cultural spheres.

Vusala Gulmaliyeva, Hafiza Imanova, Irada Zarganayeva, Khanimaga Ismayilova, Gatiba Mahmudova and others, who spoke on women’s rights, gender equality and public policy, directions of women’s activities in public organizations, the role of women in governance, said that the assessment of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev on the role of women in the fate of This assessment shows that great leader Heydar Aliyev’s endless care and love for the Azerbaijani woman continues today. The greatness of the Azerbaijani woman is exemplified by the goodwill activity of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.

At the end, a group of women employees were awarded the honorary diploma of the Free Trade Union for their active participation in the scientific and social life of the Academy.
