On December 19, the III Meeting of the Assembly of the Trade Union of Azerbaijan Customs Workers was held.
Rovshan Namazov, the chairman of the Customs Workers Trade Union, declared the meeting open and pointed out that the new composition of the Assembly should be formed as a result of the structural reforms carried out in the State Customs Committee. The chairman, giving general information about the 21 issues on the agenda, supported the candidacy of Mr. Ilham Aliyev for the presidency in the extraordinary presidential elections to be held on February 7, 2024, and the candidacy of Sattar Suliddin oglu Mohbaliyev for the presidency of the ATUC at the extraordinary Congress of the ATUC to be held on December 20, 2023 and stated the necessity of carrying out propaganda work in this direction among the members of the Union.
Then, open voting was held on 21 issues on the agenda, and all issues were unanimously accepted by the council members.
After that, the report of Asaf Aghayev, the deputy chairman of the Union, was heard about the work done in the current year. He said that during that period, the new Charter of the Union was approved and registered, guidelines for preventing accidents in production were prepared and sent to the first trade unions, and the negative impact of X-ray inspection devices installed in customs bodies on the human body was analyzed. Also, in order to protect the health and rest of the customs officers, they were sent to sanatoriums and recreation centers located on the territory of the republic based on the departures, financial assistance was provided to low-income persons who are members of the Union based on the received applications, sports and holiday events organized by the Committee for the effective use of leisure time of the customs officers, social projects were also financed.
At the end of the event, the Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, Musa Mirzayev, gave general information about the role of trade unions in the field of protection of labor, social and economic rights of workers in labor relations and the work done in this field.
