The 5th meeting of the General Assembly of the Pan European Regional Council (PERC) was held in Brussels, Belgium.
The report of the Parc for 2019-2023 was heard at the event and the action plan for the next 4 years was discussed. President Irakli Petriashvili and Secretary General Esther lanch made an opening speech at the meeting.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), vice-president of the International Trade Unions Confederation and the Pan European Regional Council, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev touched upon the activities of the PERC over the past period, spoke about important decisions of the Council for the benefit of employees, important projects implemented by it, as well as important steps taken The chairman of ATUC emphasized the work of the organization with young people and gender policy. Sattar Mohbaliyev also informed about the joint projects of ATUC with PERC and the events held in Azerbaijan. He also noted the importance of attracting specialists of relevant international organizations to the work of educating trade unions and put forward a proposal to put this issue on the agenda of the General Assembly. He said that in this direction ATUC, as always, is ready to support PERC.
Sattar Mohbaliyev noted the need for the support of relevant international organizations in establishing social dialogue with transnational corporations at the global level, as well as solving problems related to social justice.
After the speeches and discussions, relevant decisions were made on the issues on the agenda.
The new leadership and composition of the PERC were also elected at the General Assembly. Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova Igor Zubku became the new president of the Council, and Esther lanch was approved as secretary general. ATUC chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev was once again elected vice-president of the organization.
Expressing his gratitude for the re-election of the vice-president of the organization, Sattar Mohbaliyev assessed it as a high assessment and confidence in the work of the trade unions of Azerbaijan.
