The Congress of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkish States was held in Ankara

On November 29, the Congress of the Turkish States Trade Unions Organization was held in Ankara, the capital of  Turkey.

At the event, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), the vice-president of the International Trade Union Confederation and the Pan-European Regional Council, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev, the chairman of the Kazakhstan Trade Union Federation Satybaldi Dauletalin, the chairman of the Confederation of Trade Union Organizations of Turkey (TURK-ISH) Ergun Atalay, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan Emil Kizayev, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Gudratulla Rafigov and representatives participated.

Welcoming the participants, Gudratulla Rafigov, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, spoke about both bilateral and multilateral relations between the Turkish states, the work done in the direction of achieving solidarity, and also spoke about the reasons and importance of the establishment of the Organization of Trade Unions of the Turkic States, and wished success to the work of the congress.

Speaking at the event, ATUC Chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev spoke about the close friendship and fraternal relations of the Turkish states, the effective work done at the level of the country’s leaders in recent years and the organized mutual visits, the support provided, the effective activity of the Organization of Turkic States  in strengthening and developing relations.

Such mutual visits organized at the level of heads of state, signed documents open new pages in relations between our countries. Azerbaijan has invested more than 20 billion US dollars in the economy of the Turkic states. The process of creating joint investment funds has already started, Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund and Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund have been established. Compared to the corresponding period of 2022, the trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the Turkish states increased by 40 percent in January-September 2023.”

Sattar Mohbaliyev, speaking about the relations at the trade union level of the brotherly countries, noted that with the productive activity of the Organization of Trade Unions of the Turkish States, we will unite our efforts for the effective protection of the interests and labor rights of workers, trade union rights and freedom of action, its place and role in society, and by demonstrating solidarity will sign achievements.

At the event, the speeches of Satybaldi Dauletali, chairman of the Trade Union Federation of Kazakhstan, and Emil Kizayev, chairman of the Trade Union Federation of Kyrgyzstan, were heard.

Also, former Prime Minister of Turkey, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yıldırım spoke at the congress and welcomed the creation of such an organization on the direct initiative of AHİK Chairman Sattar Mohbaliyev and TURK-ISH Chairman Ergun Atalay and stressed that this is a significant event for the solidarity of the Turkic world, as well as the activities of the organization wished success.

Organizational issues were discussed at the congress. With the majority of votes, the chairman of TURK-ISH, Ergun Atalay, the president of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States, the chairman of ATUC, Sattar Mohbaliyev, the first vice-president, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan, Emil Kizayev, and the vice-chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyar Mehmtaliyev, are vice-presidents, Trade Unions of Kazakhstan. The Chairman of the Federation, Satıbaldi Dauletalin, was elected as the General Secretary. Also, the new composition of the Council of the Organization of Trade Unions of the Turkic States was approved.

It should be noted that Hasan Jafarov, the Secretary of ATUC and the Chief of Staff, was elected the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States. Also, the deputy chairman of ATUC – Musa Mirzayev, Agil Dadashov, Hikmet Osmanov and Gazanfar Abdullayev are represented as reserve members in the management of the Organization.
