The flag of our state is a symbol of our existence, the solidarity of our people, it demonstrates our ideology of freedom, moral values and universal ideas. In 1918, our wise and heroic people raised the tricolor flag in the skies of our Motherland and passed on a great legacy to future generations.
This flag brought us around against our enemies, and put a bright lamp on the National Liberation path of our people. After seventy years of great longing, on November 1990, 17, our flag was re-flagged in Nakhchivan on the initiative of National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev. President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully and faithfully continues the wise policy of the Great Leader, based on the interests of our state and the interests of our people, always elevates the national state attributes of Azerbaijan with high patriotism and instills this spirit in society with concrete steps.
It was by the decree signed by him that November 9 was approved as the State Flag Day in Azerbaijan, and this day of each year is celebrated by our people with a festive mood.
We can proudly say that under the leadership of Supreme Commander-In-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani army liberated Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh and ended its 30-year longing for land. Our state flag is already flying majestically in Shusha, Hadrut, Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavand, Agdara. We believe that from now on our flag will always be high and will be proudly flown.
