On October 17, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the opening ceremony of the Republican Spartakiad of enterprises and organizations included in the service area of “Zenit” Physical Education Sports Society Public Union was held.
At the event held at the “Shagan” Sports Complex, the vice-chairmen of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan – Hikmet Osmanov and Musa Mirzayev, the chairman of the Association of Sports Organizations of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Binyamin Mansimzade, the head of the department of the Baku City Youth and Sports Directorate Rashad Nasirov, the vice-president of the National Olympic Committee Zemfira Meftahaddinova, as well as society and organization chairmen, participated.
The speakers talked about the life and political activity of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, his state-building strategy, his rescue mission, his attention and concern for the field of sports, they talked about the local and international events organized in our country within the framework of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, and they also wished success to the teams and athletes participating in the spartakiad.
In the end, a friendly mini-football game was held between the teams of the Defense Industry Workers Trade Union Republican Committee and the Metropolitan Workers Trade Union.
It should be noted that the teams of 7 republican committees are represented in 10 sports – mini football, volleyball, stone-lifting, table tennis, tug-of-war, swimming, chess, checkers, backgammon, shooting.
